June is National Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month. The National Center for PTSD promotes awareness of PTSD and effective treatments throughout the year. After a traumatic event, most people have painful memories. For many people, the effects of the event fade over time.
But for others, the memories, thoughts and feelings don't go away - even months or years after the event is over. Mental health experts are not sure why some people develop PTSD and others do not. If stress reactions do not improve over time and they disrupt everyday life, it is important to seek help to
determine if PTSD is present.

The Four Agreements - #1…Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

The Four Agreements - #2…Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

The Four Agreements - #3…Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement,
you can completely transform your life.

The Four Agreements - #4…Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse, and regret.

Answers: 1. D (2 Corinthians 8:18); 2. C (2 Corinthians 9:7)

My Prayer For You
May God bless you always, and keep you from harm; With Him as your pilot - no cause for alarm. So trust in Him fully, each step of the way; and He’ll be there with you, yes, day after day!
Anna M. Matthews

Words of Wisdom…THE LORD WILL EITHER CALM YOUR STORM OR HE WILL ALLOW IT TO RAGE WHILE HE CALMS YOU. ~Submitted by The New Friendship Baptist Church Deaconess Board.

***Satan isn't after your joy; he is after your strength. The devil wants you too weak to pray. He wants you worn out and burned out. Satan wants to kill the head because he knows the body will fall! But the Lord will lift your head and shield you from the devil's plot against you, if you put trust in Him. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried. He is a shield to all those who takes refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31.

Remember...Judge not, and ye shall not be judged; Condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned; Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Luke 6:37.

*** Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle***

Happiness depends on what you can give. Not what you can get. ~Mahatma Gandhi

Remember…Every problem is an opportunity to trust God. Christ must be the center of your relationships because He provides a stable, fixed point of reference; otherwise, your relationships will be frail and fragile. ~ NFBC Deaconess Board

If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop a habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude. ~ Colin Powell

Remember……Ask, and it shall be given to you; Seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Luke 11:9.

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others?" ~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Directions to Our Father's House...Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd. Keep Straight and go throught the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ. There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled waters. When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and keep Straight. You are on the King's Highway - Heaven Bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son and One for the Holy Ghost. Then exit off onto Grace Blvd. From there, make a Right onto Gospel Lane. Keep Straight and then make another Right onto Prayer Road. As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Avenue. Also, avoid Sin Street because it is a DEAD END. Pass up Envy Drive and Hate Avenue. Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane and Back-Biting Blvd. However, you have to go down Long-Suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and Trials & Tribulations Avenue. But that's all right, because VICTORY Street is Straight ahead! Amen!

Remember this... God can take total disaster and turn it into total victory!

Did you know...The type of seed you sow determines the type of harvest you'll reap. The good news is God has all the money He needs to fund ministry through His church. The bad news is - it's in your pocket! Remember, you will reap what you sow! Scripture rerferences: 2 Corinthians 9:6; Galatians 6:7.

A Note from the Pastor's Desk

We serve an on-time God: wouldn't you agree? So, let's all make a special effort to be on-time for church! We put forth a lot of effort to be on time for our jobs, appointments and other events that we consider to be important. But God should be at the top of our priority list. Let us keep in mind that God gave us His best. Doesn't He deserve our best in return?
